Chips Content ("the Service") is operated by Chips Builder. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our news aggregation platform and WordPress plugin.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored hashed). No other personal information is required.

Usage Data: We track API usage (request counts, fetch timestamps) to enforce plan limits and improve the Service. No personal browsing data is collected.

Configuration Data: Keywords, sources, language preferences, and other settings you configure in the dashboard.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect data about your website visitors
• The WordPress plugin does not track end users or set cookies
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts on the dashboard

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service
• To authenticate API requests
• To enforce plan limits
• To send important service notifications (e.g., account issues)

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers in the EU (Hetzner Cloud, Germany). Passwords are hashed using Django's default PBKDF2 algorithm. API keys are stored as plain text for authentication purposes — treat them as passwords.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service fetches news from third-party sources (RSS feeds, Reddit, Google News) based on your configuration. No personal data is sent to these sources — only HTTP requests to fetch public content.

AI-powered summaries are generated using the Anthropic API. Article titles and content are sent for summarization. No personal data is included in these requests.

7. WordPress Plugin

The Chips Content WordPress plugin communicates only with the Chips Content API (content.chipsbuilder.com). It sends your API key for authentication and receives article data. It does not collect, store, or transmit any data about your website visitors.

8. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Articles are retained indefinitely unless you delete them. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data (articles, sources, configuration via API)

10. Cookies

The dashboard uses a session cookie for authentication (Django session). No third-party cookies are used. The WordPress plugin does not set any cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
